Yin Hsein, meaning appear-disappear, is a film in which one sees...and doesn't see...the skillful movement of Sifu James Wing Woo performing the Chinese Martial Arts of T'ai-chi Chuan and King Fu. As if through a vaporous mist we glimpse the real and the non-real. Though avoiding actual instruction, Yin Hsein attempts to convey the feeling of bodily movement involved in Chinese Martial Arts.
The film is the first exploration of several techniques of real image processing made possible with a computerized optical printer designed and built for this film.
